Art students of the Dr Franklin Perkins School in Massachusetts continually view and discuss pieces of artwork from history. Each week, during art class, students utilize their "Visual Thinking Strategies" to answer the following three questions about an artwork:
1) What is going on in this picture?
2) What do I see that makes me say that?
3) What more can I find?

What is going on in this picture: 4 people are performing a warriors dance.
What do you see that makes you say that: the people, the sticks, the miny gravestones.
What more can you find: the sky is dark and the air is thick.
